(XIIth Annual Conference of Society for Special Functions and their Applications)
Symposium on Applications in diverse fields of Engineering and Technology
December 13 - 15, 2013
Malaviya National Institute of Technology (MNIT), Jaipur is one of the NITs established by Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India (GOI). The Institute, earlier known as MREC, was established in 1963 as a joint venture of the GOI and the Government of Rajasthan. Later in 2002, the college was given the status of National Institute of Technology and on August 15, 2007, proclaimed Institute of National Importance through Act of Parliament. MNIT campus spreads over 325 acres of lush green area in the prime location of Jaipur city. The Institute has completed its Golden Jubilee year 2012-13 and as a part of year-long celebrations of its 50 years of teaching and excellence, various academic activities were organized. At present, in addition to research, consultancy and developmental activities, the Institute offers UG and PG (M. Tech./M.Sc. & Ph.D.) level courses to about 5000 students in almost all leading fields of engineering, technology, management and sciences.
Jaipur, well known as pink city of India is a heritage city and is the capital of Rajasthan state. It is a foremost favourite tourist destination of the country. The Jaipur city was designed and founded in 1727 AD by an astronomer prince-Sawai Jaisingh II. The entire city is encircled by a fortified wall and guarded by seven gates. There are several places of historical architectural and scenic interest in and around the walled city of Jaipur. The Jaipur is well linked with most of the important cities in the country. By road, Jaipur is 272 kms southwest to Delhi and 242 kms from Agra. It is on the air map of Indian Airlines and other private airlines. The weather in Jaipur during the conference period in Jaipur is expected to be cool with temperature ranging 15-250c. Heavy woolen clothes are needed in night time.
About the Conference
On behalf of the Society for Special Functions & their Applications (SSFA) the Organizing Committee extends a cordial welcome to attend the International Conference on Special Functions & Applications (ICSFA 2013) to be held at Malaviya National Institute of Technology & Management, Jaipur, India during December 13-15, 2013. A number of leading and distinguished mathematicians are expected to attend the conference.
The three days conference aims to bring together the researchers working in the area of Special Functions and their Applications for interaction and exchange of ideas. In addition, it will inspire young researchers to pursue research in this important branch of Mathematical sciences. The Academic program of the conference will consist of Plenary & Invited Talks and Paper Presentations covering a wide range of topics including Special Functions, Hypergeometric function and its generalizations, Orthogonal polynomials, Lie theoretic approach to Special function, Ramanujan’s Mathematics and special functions, Fractional calculus, Combinotorics, Number theory, Computer algebra, Discrete Special functions and Painleve equations, q-series and continued fractions, Geometric function theory, Fluid Dynamics, Information theory and Coding, applications of Special functions to Statistics, Physical sciences and Engineering.
The R. P. Agarwal Memorial Lecture shall be delivered on the first day of the conference by an eminent mathematician. In previous years it is been delivered by Prof. George Andrews (Pennsylvania) and Prof. H.L. Manocha (NY).
Call for Papers
The organizers of the conference invite papers for presentation. The full length paper (along with abstracts not exceeding 150 words) intended for presentation should be sent preferably by email email@example.com) or by post to
